What to look for in a new house

There are so many things to consider before you buy a house. There would be location, longevity, condition, geographical prices, neighborhood, schools and a few more. When I say location, I mean make sure it is where you want to be. Are you a person who enjoys their privacy and needs a yard for animals or kids? Then the city might not be the best place for you. You might focus your search in the country. Longevity, how old is the house and is there a possibilty commerce could come through and take the land, which can always happen. If you buy in a place close to businesses and new shopping centers, it might not be long before contractors are knocking on your door and soon possibly forcing you out. It has happened. I think some things are changing in the laws now, but it has in the past.

If the house is is terrible condition, then do you have enough money and the time to fix it up? Sometimes you can get awesome deals on fix up houses, but it takes time and a lot money to fix them. Think about what you have to do on a weekly basis, if you will have the help and time. This can also tie into geographical prices. Check what the comps are in the neighborhood that you are wanting to buy in. If it is fixer upper and it is higher then the house next to it, then it won't be worth your time and money.

What type of neighborhood do you want to live in? Do you have kids? If so, or if you are planning to have kids, then is this a place you could raise a family? Check online for any information about the neighborhood. There are sites that you can look up sexual offenders and make sure you are not moving next to one. Also, with kids, check out what school they would be attending. If it is not accredited or has bad test scores then you may want to see if there are other schools in the area you can send the kids to without paying tuition. While on the kids subject, are you going to have enough room? If you do not have kids yet, but are planning to have them, make sure your new house has room to grow. I hope this is helpful. I am sure I left something out, but this is a start!
